I grew up in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town, but it was the Ceres Karoo that shaped me. Those vast, quiet landscapes — where beauty hides in the dry and the still — taught me to look closer. To find wonder where others might see nothing at all.
Flowers found me early, and never really let go — though logic had other plans for a while, and I chased them all the way to a law degree before my heart quietly overruled the verdict.
Kadou — the Afrikaans rendering of the French cadeau, meaning gift — came to me as only a divinely inspired name can: not chosen, but given. It has never felt more true than in the work I do today.
Over a decade of weddings has taught me that I am not the one giving the gift — I am receiving it, every single time. The gift of being trusted with love. Of being handed a moment that matters more than most, and being asked to make it beautiful. I would not trade it for anything.
My greatest hope is that when the day is over and the flowers have faded, what remains is the feeling — that something sacred was held, and celebrated, exactly as it deserved to be.
