BABY SHOWER | FAVOURS

So your besties are all married… You arranged bridal showers, bachelorette parties and might even have had the honour of the maid of honour speech. Fast forward a few years and now your favourite bride-to-be is a beautiful momma-to-be.  A baby shower is such a wonderful way to make the first time mom feel special. With all the fun comes loads of planning and one of the items on the list… GUEST FAVOURS. I have compiled a list of favours I’ve used at special celebrations. Get inspired and start planning!

A Flower Station

A flower station is such a fun idea! It adds colour and fresh scents to any room AND your guests get to choose flowers and make their own bouquet as a thank you gift. We love it, and we promise your guests will too!

All images of the flower station from Ilze’s baby shower were taken by my friend, Chantall Marsall.

Items you will need:

  • Variety of florals and foliage
  • Scissors
  • Pruning sheers
  • Floral tape
  • Ribbon
  • Vases and/or buckets
  • Fresh water

Sweet treats

Cupcakes! Whether you do cute custom flowers…

… or store bought cupcakes with cute baby bottle toppers, something sweet on the plate always brings a smile to the face.

A Bun in the Oven

Another fun idea is to give each guest a mini bread loaf/bun with a custom sleeve. For this one we sketched the mom-to-be’s tummy with the cute “broodjie in die oondjie” (bun in the oven) framing the shape of her growing tummy.

Items you will need:

  • Bread (Woolworths have the cutest small loafs that will work perfectly for this)
  • Custom sleeve
  • Double side tape

Herb tins

This is a super easy and super affordable way to do guest favours. You just transfer the herbs from the tray to the sprayed tin can, add potting soil and your skewer to name the herb. The rest is up to you!

Items you will need:

  • Herbs trays from your local nursery

  • Recycled tin cans

Mini clipboards

Mini clipboards is such a fun and easy gift to put together. You can customise it any way you like with different colours, patterns and themes. Add a pencil in a complementing colour and you are good to go!
